Frequently Asked Questions

How does your work differ from life coaching?

There are definite similarities between my approach and that of a life coach.  And throughout my career I have coached hundreds of people to help them work through problems or navigate change.

The key difference in the way I now work, is that I welcome and work with our emotions (yours and mine) during our time together, as they bring us insights, answers and guidance.  This is not something that is generally done by most coaches, who may acknowledge your emotions, but not seek their specific insights to help discover answers and possible actions. And believe me, it is transformational!

My yoga teaching also allows me to bring the critical elements of our body and breath into my work with each person (f that is appropriate for them), helping to ground ourselves, connect strongly to our being, and help bring elemental balance into our sessions, and lives.

I have a pretty busy life, so can sessions be booked to fit in with my schedule?

Not only is the content and focus of our sessions completely tailored to you and your needs, but also the timing of our sessions.  So yes, we can schedule our time together to fit with your schedule, including whether they are in-person or virtually.

Budget is an issue for me, do you offer payment plans?

Yes, payment plans are an option, especially if it enables you to get the support and space you need to make whatever changes will best support and strengthen you.

I'm in a really dark place right now, will this be a safe space for me?

Because we welcome and allow all of our emotions (including the heavy or 'dark' ones) into our work together, this helps ensure we create a space that is empathic, non-judgemental, compassionate and safe.  In fact, we use our emotions to create the space together and always centred around what you and your emotions are telling us you need.

However, our DEI consultations or sessions are not therapy and there may be situations where clinical support is helpful, such as long-term depressions, post-traumatic conditions, difficulties with abusive relationships, addictions, and other more intense situations.   If you are currently working with a therapist or counsellor, a DEI consultation can be strongly complementary, learning more about your emotions and how to work more skilfully with them.

I'm not sure if this is what I need, so do I have to commit to one or more sessions when I am not certain this will help me?

Definitely not.   It is super important that you feel comfortable and fully informed about the way we work and what we might do in our sessions.   And vice versa, I would like to ensure that I am the right person to support and help you.  The nature of our work together, means that we both need to feel comfortable and that there is a natural connection between us.

This is why I offer a free, 30 minute phonecall/conversation to give us the opportunity to meet, discuss your current situation, and answer any questions you might have.  You can then decide where to from there.

I need practical solutions, not just positive thinking and fluffy conversations, so will this help me?

If practical solutions is what you feel you need, then we can definitely help you identify what these practical actions or solutions might be.  However we may need to do a bit of exploration and discussion to ensure we really understand the problem or issue correctly (and what might be sitting underneath it).  This is also where the answers or solutions are found, and this work is often anything but fluffy!

I won't have the answers - they will come from you, because you know what you need better than anyone else! (you just might not realise it)
